Welcome to Living Torah's, Introduction to the Tanakh (Old
Testament) Torah Class. Our primary avenue for understanding about God and His creation is through the study of His word. The foundation of our faith is found in the Torah and Hebrew Scriptures, known by many as the Old Testament. In order to understand the Christian Writings, the New Testament, we must first have a firm grasp on the Torah and the Tanakh.
We are going book-by-book during this year. The Torah and Tanakh are the foundation for understanding God and our world. After a brief introduction to each book,
we go through the major passages and add relevant commentary from the
Jewish sages, especially Rashi, Rambam, the Rebbe, and others. We strive
to have a basic understanding of the overall flow of each book in the Tanakh, the Old Testament, taking
the time to examine some of the key passages for a deeper understanding.
Our goal is that by the end of this course, each of us will have a much
better general understanding of the Tanakh from a Messianic Jewish
and Gentile perspective. So whether in person or through our online Torah class, join us as we spend time together each week studying God's word in this Tanakh, Old Testament Torah class.
